Wind N Wings has achieved official 501c3 tax status as a Non-Profit organization.
Currently Wind N Wings Museum is negotiating for real estate on an airport in middle Georgia to host a hangar and physical location for our operations.
We have identified a preliminary site and are encouraged as to the availability of property and access at the airport. We feel strongly this will provide an excellent venue to execute the goals & objectives of
the Museums vision and endeavors. We have preliminary drawings and site plans we are working from so it will be an exciting venture for us as we grow.
As we finalize those negotiations we will be in dire need of sponsorships, members and donations to bring our proposed hangar and education facilities out of the ground and up to speed. It is our ultimate plan to
have a
200’ x 200’ hangar facility to house Museum and member aircraft as well as maintenance and restoration capability in addition to classroom, meeting and conference facilities for use by the museum, local civic and education groups as well as social and service organizations in the area.
Wind N Wings will be looking for a “Center Piece” aircraft for the museum and we will be actively searching for additional flying or near flyable projects. We are particularly interested in acquiring a flyable or
nearly flyable
C-47 for use as an excursion aircraft. So if you know of anyone who has one of these and would like to become a member or would like to donate a DC-3/C-47 or become a member please have them contact the webmaster for further discussions.
In addition we will be trying to acquire and would welcome any static display aircraft for our facility as well.
In the coming months we will be developing membership programs, incentives and fund raising efforts so please stay tuned.
